Daniel Andrew Sileo, 94, Longtime Greenwich Resident, WWII Veteran

GREENWICH, Conn. - Daniel Andrew Sileo of Greenwich died June 11. He was 94.

Sileo was born Feb. 10, 1919, in Stamford, to Andrew and Maria Paula Sileo. A Greenwich resident for 72 years. He served during World War II in the US Navy. After he returned from the war he was hired by Arnold Bakers (then located in Port Chester) and worked there for over 30 years, first in production and later as manager of purchasing prior to his retirement. He was a member of the Glenville Seniors and the Western Greenwich AARP.

Sileo is survived by his daughter, Jo Ann McDermott (Kevin) of Tarrytown, N.Y.;  four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents: his wife, Constance Tripodi Sileo; daughter, Pauline (Charles “Skip”) Rameor; sisters, Angelina Lovito and Lucy Caminiti; and brothers, James and Salvatore.

Calling hours are Sunday, June 16 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Castiglione Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 17 at St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church in Greenwich. Interment will follow the service in St. Mary Cemetery in Greenwich.
