Christopher D. Webster, 87, Of Greenwich, Worked For Northeast Utilities

GREENWICH, Conn. - Christopher Donald Webster of Greenwich died Tuesday, July 8. He was 87.

Webster was born Dec. 2, 1926, the son of William and Rose Webster, and was a lifelong resident of Greenwich. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1949. He also served in the U.S Army during the Korean conflict, from 1950 through 1952. After his military service, he worked for Northeast Utilities for over 35 years, as a lineman and supervisor.

Webster is survived by his sister, Sally Yates of Texas; children, Valerie Webster of Texas, Christopher Webster of Riverside, Wade Webster of California, and MaryBeth Webster and Kelly Webster, both of Cos Cob; 10 grandchildren; a great-grandson; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; and wife, Barbara Ann Ramsey.

Calling hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 11, at the Leo. P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home, 2900 Summer St., Stamford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 12, at St. Catherine of Sienna Church, 4 Riverside Ave., Riverside. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Greenwich.
