GREENWICH, Conn. – Antoinette "Toni" M. Nastro of Greenwich died Nov. 14. She was 84.
Nastro was born Feb. 28, 1928, in Mount Vernon, N.Y., to Frank and Mary Liotino DeFilippis. She graduated from New York University in 1968 and earned a master's degree from Columbia University in 1972.
She owned and managed Cimarron East, an artistic boutique, in the 1970s. She also worked for the Pittston Corporation and North Star Reassurance. Nastro enjoyed the arts, oil painting, Chinese painting, pottery and working with fabrics.
She had her own art studio, where she spent countless hours. She loved working on art projects with her children and grandchildren and found her niche in quilting.
Nastro is survived by five children, Frank (Joanne) Nastro, Christine Gilliatt, Sally Hotaling, Robert Nastro and Jeanne Nastro; a brother, Joseph (Lynne) DeFilippis; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by three brothers, Nicholas, Anthony and Peter.
A service was held Monday at St. Mary’s Church in Greenwich. Fred D. Knapp and Son Funeral Home in Greenwich handled the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Museum of Modern Art in New York City or Greenwich Library.
