Anne P. Dickens, 88, Of Greenwich

GREENWICH, Conn. - Anne Patricia Dickens of Greenwich, a native of White Plains, N.Y., died Nov. 10. She was 88.

Dickens was born May 6, 1926, to John E. Wilson and Anna Hutchinson Wilson, in Peekskill, N.Y. She grew up in White Plains, N.Y., where she attended Good Counsel Academy, and then St. Ann's School of Nursing in Fall River, Mass. She worked with the mentally disabled at The W.A.R.C. of White Plains during the 1960's and 70's. She was also the director of the Hospitality Center and Gift Shop of The Women's Auxiliary of White Plains Hospital, until her retirement in 1988, when she and her husband relocated to New Market, Md. Following her husband's death, she lived in Princess Anne, Md., until moving to Greenwich, in 2010.

Dickens is survived by her son, Charles Edward Dickens (Clare) of Washington, DC; daughter, Mary Dickens Rogers (Bruce) of Darien; brother, Patrick A. Wilson (Carol) of N.J.; three grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles; brothers, Charles L. and John E. Wilson Jr.; sisters, Mary Wilson and Margaret Burnett; son, Frank E. Dickens; and grandson, Titus W. Dickens.

There will be a private memorial at Arlington National Cemetery, where at her request, her ashes will be placed next to those of her husband.
