Albert Perna, 89, Lifelong Greenwich Resident, Construction Businessman

GREENWICH, Conn. - Albert "Herb" Perna, lifelong Greenwich resident, died March 6. He was 89.

Perna was a WWII veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy until his honorable discharge in 1946. After his military service, he spent his entire career in the construction and excavation business in the Greenwich area.

He was a member of the VFW. He was a lifelong Greenwich resident, and partner in Perna Brothers Inc. before his retirement.

Perna is survived by his wife, Ange; daughter, Jane; sons Joseph and Michael; a brother Dr. Vincent Perna; daughters-in-law Constance and Joannie; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brothers Alfred and Joseph, and his sister Mary Sabia.


Calling hours are Monday, March 11 between 4 and 8 p.m.at the Gallagher Funeral Home in Greenwich, 31 Arch St. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, March 12, at 11 a.m. at St. Agnes Church, Greenwich.
