GREENWICH, Conn. - A. Christine Kyne Browne of Greenwich died June 6. She was 82.
Browne was born Dec. 27, 1931, in Killala, County Mayo, Ireland, to George and Mary (Langan) Munnelly. She attended school in Ireland and immigrated to America at the age of 19. She settled in Greenwich. where she had numerous family members.
For decades, she was employed by Greenwich Trust Co., later known as Bank of America, as credit manager. She was a parishioner of St. Mary's Church since 1950 and later attended St. Helena's Church, in addition to attending St. Mary's. She was a 60-year-plus member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians and during the 1970s served for five years as the organization's chairwoman for Fairfield County.
Browne is survived by her son, Martin Kyne (Diane); two granddaughters; brother, Robert Munnelly, of County Meath, Ireland; sister, Phyllis Lavin, of County Mayo, Ireland; six stepchildren; eight step-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; first husband, Michael Kyne; second husband, Michael Browne; children, Michael Kyne and Mary Kyne; and sister, Nora Kearney.
Calling hours are Wednesday, June 11, from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Leo P. Gallagher Funeral Home , 31 Arch St., Greenwich. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 12, at St. Mary's Church, Greenwich Ave., Greenwich. Burial will be private at St. Mary's Cemetery in Greenwich. Immediately after the Mass, friends are invited to join the family at the Knights of Columbus Hall, located at 37 W. Putnam Ave., Greenwich.
