Woman Faces Embezzling Charge

A Bronx woman has been charged with embezzling $70,000 from her former Greenwich Avenue employer. Ghiajaira Paz, 31, of 2350 Webster Ave. deposited daily proceeds of cash and checks from her employer going back to 2007. During that time, Paz kept the cash and changed the deposit receipts. She was arrested by the Greenwich Police detective division on Thursday on charges of larceny in the first degree. She was released on a $2,500 bond and is due in court on Sept. 17. Police did not release the name of the woman's employer.

Also from the police blotter:

• Adam Lindner, 33, of 108 Varick St. in New York City was arrested Thursday on DWI charges. Greenwich police saw Lindner driving erratically on Post Road and making a right turn without signaling. When officers stopped his car, Lindner had alcohol on his breath and was slurring his speech. He failed a field sobriety test and was arrested for DWI, failure to maintain proper lane and improper use of turn signal. He was released on a $250 bond and is due in court on Sept. 23.
