Woman Charged With Identity Theft in Greenwich

GREENWICH, Conn. – A Brooklyn, N.Y., woman was charged Thursday with stealing an identity in an attempt to withdraw more than $8,000 from a bank account in Greenwich, police said.

Tahneesha Shalay West, 27, of 988 Willoughby Ave., allegedly withdrew $8,775 from a bank account Nov. 9 without the knowledge or consent of the account holder, police said. New York City police arrested her later that day in a related crime. Greenwich Police arrested her Thursday at the King’s County Courthouse on Thursday.

West was charged with larceny, identify theft and criminal impersonation. She was held on $8,000 bond and is due in court Feb. 3.
