Wintry Weather Advisory In Effect Until Monday Afternoon In Greenwich

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- With a mixture of snow, sleet and freezing rain arriving, a Winter Weather Advisory issued by the National Weather Service is in effect on Monday for Fairfield County.

The advisory is in effect from 3 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday and until 4 p.m. for Northern Fairfield.

Some ice accumulation and up to 1 inch of snow accumulation is possible.

The heaviest precipitation is expected to fall during the Monday morning commute. It is expected to change to all rain sometime in the afternoon, with the high temperature for Monday between 35 and 37 degrees.

There is a slight chance of the wintry mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain returning between 10 p.m. Monday and 1 a.m. Tuesday.

The outlook for Tuesday calls for mostly sunny skies and a high between 26 and 28 degrees.

Bands of heavy snow moving through the area resulted in slick driving conditions throughout the area on Friday morning, resulting in numerous accidents.
