GREENWICH, Conn. A swim-a-thon, fire safety day and a polar bear plunge are some of the events planned for this weekend in Greenwich. Check out these events:
Friday
Free tours at Bruce Museum, 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Exhibit tours are free with price of admission Fridays at the Bruce Museum; call 203-869-6786 for more information.
Boys & Girls Club Swim-A-Thon, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.: Olympic Family Fun Night includes pasta takeout and a swim competition. Teams of up to eight people will compete in Olympic obstacles to earn points for a grand prize and the potential to be named Olympic Champion in the Pool. Cost is $5; 4 Horseneck Lane Greenwich.
Friday night games at the Greenwich Boys & Girls Club, 6 to 9 p.m.: Middle school members of the Boys & Girls Club can swim and participate in game room tournaments and dodge ball games Fridays at the clubhouse. Call 203-869-3224 for more information.
Round Hill Community Church family game night, 6:30 p.m.: The church will offer a pasta dinner and board games; 397 Round Hill Road; $5 donation; RSVP to 203-869-1091.
Friday Night Films at Greenwich Library, 8 p.m.: Friends Friday Films at Greenwich Library presents Women in Love directed by Ken Russell with Alan Bates, Oliver Reed, Glenda Jackson, Jennie Linden and Eleanor Bron. The film is based on D.H. Lawrences novel set in 1920s England where artist Gudrun and her schoolteacher sister Ursula make the acquaintance of lifelong friends Gerald and Rupert. Admission is free. Doors open at 7:40 p.m. a the Greenwich Library Cole Auditorium.
Saturday
Boys & Girls Club Swim-A-Thon, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.: Swim-a-thon in which future Olympians will hit the pool for swimming challenges, relays and obstacles to raise money for the clubs aquatics program. Sign up here.
Fire Safety Event, 10 a.m.: CT-Moms host a Show of Support fire safety awareness fundraising event at the Greenwich Fire Station at 75 Holly Hill Lane. Cost is a $20 donation per family.
Adolescent Technology Behavior Discussion, 10 a.m.: Parents of children and teens can explore strategies for reining in texting, Internet use, television, electronic games and other homework distractions with presenter Bud Freund. Held at the Greenwich Library Technology Training Center. Free. Call 203-625-6508 for more information.
Brain Cancer Cure Fundraiser, 7:30 p.m.: The Greenwich-based nonprofit B*Cured will have its Winter Wonderland fundraising event to raise money to develop a cure for brain cancer. Held at Harbor Point, 100 Washington Blvd. in Stamford. Email info@bcured.org for more information.

Safe Roads at Greenwich Point, 9 a.m. to noon: Walkers, joggers, and cyclists can enjoy open roads at Greenwich Point through the Friends of Greenwich Points Safe Roads Program. Free.
Polar Bear Plunge, 10 a.m.: Greenwich Family Centers Polar Bear Plunge fundraiser will be held Geneve Holdings, 96 Cummings Point Road in Stamford. The cost is $25.
Open Mic and Poetry Reading, 3 to 5 p.m.: Listen to poets read some of their work, answer questions and speak informally about poetry. Held every Sunday at Arcadia Café in Old Greenwich. Call 203-637-8766 for more information.
Grief and Loss Support Group, 2 p.m.: Support group for people who are grieving from a loss can learn coping skills. Group is facilitated by bereavement counselor Paige Stetson, LPC, LMHC. Held at 237 Taconic Road in Greenwich; free.
