GREENWICH, Conn. -- Here are the top stories this week in Greenwich.

  • The West Nile virus was found recently in mosquitoes in Greenwich, according to town Director of Health Caroline Calderone Baisley.
  • A local organization that was founded by a Greenwich student has been selected as the beneficiary of the People’s Choice fundraiser for the 2014 Miss Westchester and Miss Hudson Valley Pageants.
  • Retailer Saks Fifth Avenue agreed to be purchased by Hudson's Bay for $2.4 billion, in an all-cash deal that is probably as much about high-end real estate as luxury clothes, the Wall Street Journal reported.  Hudson's Bay Chair and CEO Richard Baker is a Greenwich native.
  • The Greenwich Police Department swore in five new officers at Greenwich Town Hall in front of officials and the new officers' family and friends on Monday.
