GREENWICH, Conn. — The traffic is usually slow on Greenwich Avenue. But it was a bit more jammed than usual on Tuesday afternoon.

Work is underway on the sidewalks in front of the Greenwich Senior Center, closing one lane and creating some extra work for the officer directing traffic. 

A backhoe is set up in one lane of The Avenue at the construction site at the intersection of Greenwich Avenue, Havemeyer Place and Arch Street.
