Violet Jeans, 42 Years at Pitney-Bowes

Violet N. Jeans of Riverside died Jan. 21 at Greenwich Hospital. She was 92 years old. Jeans was born in Manchester, N.H. She spent her early years in Jay, Maine, before moving to Riverside. She worked for Pitney-Bowes, the postage meter and machine company, for 42 years. Jeans was also a director of the Mianus chapter of Trout Unlimited. She was an avid traveler and talented artist who was active in the Art Society of Old Greenwich.

Jeans is survived by her son, Frederick Jr.; a sister, Simone Hubert; eight grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. A memorial service is scheduled for Monday, Jan. 31, at 7 p.m. at the Evangelical Community Church in Stamford. Memorial donations may be made to the Mianus chapter of Trout Unlimited, P.O.
