Tree, Wires Down In Greenwich; Power Outages Reported

GREENWICH, Conn. — Power outages were reported in Greenwich, Bethel, Fairfield and Redding on Sunday evening as blustery winds blew through the area. 

Fairfield Road in Greenwich was closed for a while on Sunday at Hillside Road due to a fallen tree and wires.

In Greenwich, a total of 16 outages were reported by Eversource. The Greenwich Fire Department said via Twitter that Fairfield Road had been closed at Hillside Road due to tree and wires down in the roadway. Eversource was responding to the scene, and the roadway had reopened.

In Bethel, 192 outages were reported, and there were three reported in Greenwich.

Also, United Illuminating was reporting 15 outages in three different locations in Fairfield. 

No estimate was given for repairs, but crews have been dispatched to the scenes.
