The ball will celebrate Gov. Dannel Malloy and Lt. Gov. Nancy Wyman as they are sworn in to begin their second term in office.

This black-tie celebration will be hosted by the First Company Governor’s Foot Guard to commemorate gubernatorial inaugurations since Colonial times. The inaugural ball is funded by revenue raised through ticket sales.

Tickets can be purchased individually as general admission or as tables for groups of 10. All tickets can be purchased online or by calling 860-246-7772. Attendees must register first before purchasing tickets.

Malloy and Wyman thank Foot Guard Maj. Christopher Cain, board of trustees President Capt. Thomas Satalino, and Inaugural Ball Chairman Lee Fongemie, as well as everyone else involved in the Foot Guard for their work organizing the ball.

Formed in 1771, the First Company Governor’s Foot Guard is the oldest American military organization in continuous operation. It is a largely ceremonial unit established under the Connecticut General Statutes. The Foot Guard serves the governor and the state in a variety of capacities, ranging from military to artistic and educational.

Details on the inauguration ceremony, which will be held earlier that same day, will be announced soon.
