Supermarket Supplier Recalls 1.7M Pounds Of Chicken Over Salmonella Risk

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- A poultry company that sells products to several retailers, including Stop & Shop, has recalled more than 1.7 million pounds of frozen chicken because of concerns of salmonella contamination.

Barber Foods of Portland, Maine, is recalling approximately 1,707,494 pounds of frozen, raw stuffed chicken products produced between Feb. 17 and May 20 and distributed throughout the U.S. and Canada.

Stop & Shop said it is pulling several items supplied by Barber Foods and that customers who have purchased them can get a full refund. For a list of those items, click here.
