STAMFORD, Conn. — North Stamford residents can expect trucks delivering soil to the Scofieldtown Road Landfill to drive by starting Monday, a letter sent from the city to the Board of Representatives said.
Five tri-axle trucks will make five trips to the landfill each day for 40 days, the letter said. The trucks will leave Norwalk at 7 a.m. and the final truck should reach the landfill by 3 p.m., the letter said.
The trucks will alternate routes coming from I-95, taking Scofieldtown Road on Mondays, Wednesday and Fridays, and Brookdale Road on Tuesdays and Thursdays, the letter said.
The delivery of the 12,000 cubic yards of soil is one of the steps being taken by the city to remediate the landfill, the letter said.
The landfill has been closed since Dec. 3.
