Rutishauser, a member of the town’s pension trust investment committee, was approved Tuesday by unanimous vote to join the finance board.

Rutishauser takes over for Gail Lavielle, who resigned her position after winning a third term as state Representative for the 143rd District, which includes Wilton, Westport and Norwalk.

The newest member is familiar to the finance board, having been a member of the group from 2000 to 2004.

Rutishauser said he wanted to come back and be of service to the town. “I’m looking forward to getting back to where I left off in 2004,” he said.

Rutishauser said he hopes more people in town will take time to take roles on town boards and committees, instead of having the same faces going to different boards.
