GREENWICH, Conn. – Following reports of the death of Andy Griffith, his "Andy Griffith Show" co-star Ron Howard of Greenwich tweeted: “Andy Griffith His pursuit of excellence and the joy he took in creating served generations & shaped my life I’m forever grateful RIP Andy.”

Griffith reportedly died at his home Tuesday in North Carolina at the age of 86.
