GREENWICH, Conn. His mailbox and a utility pole at the top of his driveway on North Street were taken down by a one-car rollover accident Sunday morning, a Greenwich resident reported.
At 8:45 a.m. Sunday, a car drove south in the wrong lane for at least 100 yards before swerving into the pole, a utility crew told resident Lee Wilson.
Hopefully the driver is OK, but it is hard to understand what could have caused this sort of an accident with no traffic on a straight stretch of road, said Wilson.
The area between Taconic Road and Dingletown Road was closed to through traffic until Sunday afternoon. Power was restored by 3:20 p.m. after a new utility pole was installed.
The driver was taken to Greenwich Hospital with minor injuries, and her license was seized, police said.
