Report: Danbury Hospital Doctor Snaps Finger Off Centuries-Old Statue

DANBURY, Conn. -- A Danbury Hospital emergency room doctor accidentally broke a finger off a 600-year-old statue in a museum in Florence, Italy, while measuring his hand against the marble sculpture when it broke, according to a report on The Daily Mail website.

Dr. Patrick Broderick, 56, is from New Fairfield. He was taken into custody. But the Museo dell'Opera del Duomo, or the Museum of the Works of the Cathedral, did not press charges.
