FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. - What will be snow for a large part of New England will mainly be rain for Fairfield County as a storm system moves through this weekend.

The rain will start early Saturday and last through the day. The temperatures will be warm enough for Fairfield County that there won't be snow until late Saturday and into Sunday morning, Accuweather meteorologist Tom Kines said.

"If there is going to be any snow, it will come Saturday night," Kines said.

The storm will wind down Sunday morning, eventually ending that afternoon.

But the forecast could change, Kines warned. If the storm changes course and brings colder temperatures to Fairfield County, it will also bring a blanket of snow.

This would be the same Tom Kines who on February 7th said

The snow should start sticking by 2 p.m. Friday, he said. By 5 p.m., there may be a couple of inches on the ground, and winds will start to pick up. Gusts of up to 40 miles per hour are possible late Friday evening, which Kines said will cause the snow to drift. The heaviest gusts will be between 9 p.m. Friday and 4 a.m. Saturday, he said. He projects 6 to 10 inches, slight less than the National Weather Service, which forecasts up to 14 inches farther north.

I so want a job where I can be horribly wrong all the time and yet people still call me for quotes for the newspaper.
