Poor Air Quality Lingers In Greenwich

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. – Saturday’s sunny skies and 90-degree temperatures will be accompanied by poor air quality in Fairfield County, the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection warns.

The DEEP has issued an air quality alert for Saturday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. This is the second consecutive alert: A similar warning had also been issued for Friday.

The alert means that ground level ozone levels within the region may approach or exceed unhealthy standards, according to the National Weather Service. These conditions can be difficult for children, adults with respiratory diseases and the elderly.

Middlesex, New Haven and New London counties are also included in the alert. For more information, visit the DEEP website.
