Overturned Tractor-Trailer Closes I-95 In Norwalk

Update 2:30 p.m.: NORWALK, Conn. -- Interstate 95 had reopened all lanes in Norwalk by about 2:15 p.m. Wednesday after a tractor-trailer accident had blocked all southbound lanes earlier, the Connecticut Department of Transportation announced.

Workers cleared the roadway, first one lane and then all three. Traffic was still backed up through Norwalk and Westport and into Fairfield on Wednesday afternoon, DOT reports said.  

Original story: NORWALK, Conn. -- A tractor-trailer rollover accident closed I-95 southbound at about 10:30 Wednesday morning, the Connecticut Department of Transportation announced. 

The rollover was reported between Exits 14 and 13 on the southbound side of the highway, DOT said. Traffic was beginning to back up along the roadway, DOT cameras and maps showed. 

The estimated time to clear the accident was three hours or less, DOT said.
