Old Greenwich Man Charged With DWI in Harrison

HARRISON, N.Y. – Harrison police arrested Steven E. Hirsch, 58, of Old Greenwich, Conn., on April 28 at 10:38 p.m. and charged him with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor.

The police report said Hirsch was traveling south on Halstead Avenue into downtown Harrison when his vehicle was pulled over in front of Land & Sea Restaurant, at 307 Halstead Ave. Police said he drove through a flashing red light at Halstead and Oakland avenues. When the arresting officer approached the vehicle, she smelled a “strong odor of an alcoholic beverage” emanating from it, the police report said.

After a field sobriety test, Hirsch was arrested. His vehicle was turned over to his passenger. Hirsch is due in court May 15.
