Two Greenwich police detectives have been named officers of the month for September for their part in a multijurisdictional investigation that led to the arrest of two armed robbery suspects.
Detectives Pasquale Iorfino and Robert Brown Jr. were cited for an investigation into a holdup of Greenview Pharmacy in Byram.
During the Sept. 4 robbery the suspect, which police called highly agitated and unstable, threatened to harm two pharmacists with a large kitchen knife to get prescription narcotics. After a Good Samaritan confronted the suspect, he fled. Thanks to the detectives investigative skills and diligence, the suspect and his accomplice who drove the get away car were quickly identified.
John Pastore, 30, of New Rochelle was arrested for the incident on charges of robbery in the first degree, larceny in the third degree, threatening in the second degree and breach of peace in the second degree.
The two detectives were awarded for using intelligence gathered from other law enforcement agencies and witnesses to pinpoint a suspect. Congratulations to both detectives on their award!
