Nor'easter Is Heading Toward Greenwich

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- A powerful Nor'easter is making its way north and is set to dump heavy rain and bring strong winds to Fairfield County on Thursday.

Rain will be likely in the afternoon. with up to a half-inch possible. High temperatures will only reach into the low 60s. Chance of rain is 70 percent.  Winds are expected to be between 10 and 16 mph. 

"For many people along the coast from Virginia to southern New England, this will essentially be an early season Nor'easter," said Accuweather.com's Joe Sobel.

The threat of rain will linger in the area overnight with a 30 percent chance of precipitation. 

The system will move out of the area by Friday paving the way for a sunny weekend with high temperatures in the high 70s to low 80s.
