New York Man Charged With Impersonating a Doctor

GREENWICH, Conn. – A New York man was arrested in Greenwich Tuesday when he turned himself in on a warrant for impersonating a doctor and distributing prescription drugs, police said.

John Plunkett Jr., 48, of 912 5th Ave., Apt #7F, was charged with use of the title “doctor” impersonation; criminal impersonation; illegal manufacturing, distribution, sale of a prescription; and reckless endangerment.

He was released on a $1,000 bond and is due in court on Jan. 18.

Also from the Greenwich Police Department:

• Joelyon Thompson, 26, of 1 Kellog St., in Norwalk, was arrested Tuesday by warrant on the charge of failure to appear in court. Thompson was a passenger in a vehicle stopped at Delavan Avenue for a motor vehicle violation. A routine check of everyone in the car showed the warrant for Thompson. The original charges were for narcotics violations, police said. He missed a court date on May 17, police said. He was being held on a $7,500 bond and is due in court on Jan. 18.
