FAIRFIRLD COUNTY, Conn. -- Regular New Haven Line train service is set to resume Monday morning, according to Metro-North.
Service had been discontinued to conduct initial testing of a new electrical substation in Mount Vernon.
Metro-North will have limited service on the line Saturday and Sunday while activation and breaking in of the new substation occurs. The service will be about 70 percent of normal weekend service. Go here for the latest schedule.
In addition, Metro-North's direct New Haven Line service to the 1 p.m. Sunday Eagles versus Giants game at MetLife Stadium will not operate.
New Haven Line tickets continue to be honored on all Metro-North trains during this time period. Also, at an Oct 1 meeting, the MTA Board approved a credit toward future purchases for New Haven Line customers with monthly or weekly tickets valid for travel between Sept. 25 and the restoration of full service.
