Poll: Americans Still Blame Bush for Economic Problems

A new poll shows Americans blame George W. Bush more than they blame Obama for economic problems.

President Obama presided over the highest unemployment rates seen in decades, as well as a long, slow recovery. Though his presidency has been marked by a rough economy, a new poll shows that Americans are far more likely to blame his predecessor for the nation's economic woes

According to a new poll from Gallup, Americans are far less likely to blame Obama for the nation's current economic problems than they are to blame former president George W. Bush, who left office over fouryears ago. More than two-thirds of Americans, 69 percent, said they blame Bush "a great deal" or "a moderate amount" for the nation's current economic problems. In contrast, just over half of Americans, 53 percent, say the same of Obama

In U.S., Bush Still Bears Brunt of Blame for Economic Woes

While half say Obama at least moderately to blame, two-thirds say Bush is

by Lydia Saad

PRINCETON, NJ -- Americans are still more likely to blame former President George W. Bush "a great deal" or "a moderate amount" than President Barack Obama for the country's current economic problems. More Americans blamed Bush during Obama's first year as president in 2009; however, since mid-2010, views have been steady at levels similar to today's.

WOW WOW
CNN Poll: Is Bush still to blame for economy? YES
February 6th, 2014
Although nearly two-thirds of Americans still give the nation's economy a thumbs down, the percentage who rate the current economic conditions as good now stands at its highest level in six years, according to a new national poll.

Thirty-six percent of those questioned rate the current economic conditions as good. That’s up four percentage points from December and it is the highest level since January 2008, a year before Obama entered the White House. Sixty-four percent continue to say the economy is in poor shape…

Five years into Obama’s presidency, only a third of the public believes that Obama and the Democrats are primarily responsible for the country’s current economic problems.

More Americans continue to blame former President Bush and the Republicans

Wow, Obama more unpopular that George W. Bush.

I guess people are getting wise...

Thanks Governor Malloy for fixing the screwups of past Republican Governors.

Voting for a Republican will ensure CT ends up like Washington did under Bush or worse. The problem is creating more taxes rather than creating more tax payers.
The Republicans kill Mail Street businesses, and tax the middle class to support tax breaks for big oil. All while letting the needy starve
If they could tax the air we breath and give that tax to the oil company , they would!! Vote all the Republican bums out of office, get someone that does what is right as in Democrats , not what makes the filthy corporate executives on Wall smile while Main Street is dying.

Why do you pretend the poll does not exist? How do you defend living in CT?
I guess your name sums it all up!

Here is a real polll

Excellent link Robby from 2014..February to be exact.

It means nothing, and its from 2006

Liberal Democrats control both chambers, plus the Governors office. This should not be a surprise to any sane, rational, adult taxpayer.Note I said taxpayer. The .ingrate class couldn't care less.

Bottom line the buck stops at the Governors desk.. Failure like under the Republican Grandma Rell or failure like under the convicted felon Republican Rowland or success like under the Democrat Malloy.

I am fairly certain they see Detroit, and are doing the best they can to make CT just like it.
Keep voting democrat, the results are outstanding!

I am fairly certain that you are a MORON Robtard. We will be posting with our new use name Thursday...

Keep voting democrat, that will ensure CT stays the same or continue to get worse. The problem is creating more taxes rather than creating more tax payers.
The kill businesses, and tax the middle class to support the poor.
If they could tax the air we breath, they would!! Vote all the bums out of office, get someone that does what is right, not what makes mommy's smile when he has a photo op...

CT has to the WORSE state to operate a business! Anyone that actually thinks the state is doing ok is either a MORON or has no job.

Hi Robtard
The group just loves the new user name.. We just made it ours

FYI Robtard why the concern with CT when you live in NY???Just because you troll the CT sites does not make you a resident

Harder to earn a living to pay a mortgage on a property that is losing value.

Thankfully Governor Malloy continues to repair the damage caused by the Republicans Rell and Rowland

It is time for republican legislators to get off the big government bandwagon and advocate for citizen rights, not government mandates. Government is twice the size it should be and this extra overhead gives them time and resources to meddle where they don't belong. The cure is to cut and cut and cut government budgets.

I hope Malloy wins re-election. We need to get that top spot, currently held by Hawaii.

Unfortunately, we’ve had one political party in control of this state for too long. I don’t care what one’s politics are, competition for new ways of doing things is critical to having a viable society and economy. A change in leadership needs to happen in order to challenge the status quo.

I take it you forgot about the Republican grandma Rell and the criminal Republican Rowland

CT just sucks more each and every year.

Seems to me the only ones having problems making a living are a bunch off old has been Republicans. They need to stop blaming others for not having 21st century skills,

Our roads are in terrible condition. Our highways are clogged. Our bridges are falling apart or don't function correctly (South Norwalk Metro North bridge, I'm looking at you). Our pension funds are tens of billions of dollars short. We have a governor who wanted to give us each $55 in an election year (think about that two pronged mistake). We pay sales tax, property tax, income tax, car tax, gas tax, property transfer tax, death tax... you get the idea and, thanks to things like the absurd new gun laws, our local businesses are pulling up stakes in record numbers and moving out of state. Now, tell me again why I shouldn't be surprised to find out our state ranks so low in all these polls? I hope everyone gets angry about these conditions and votes for someone with a real plan to get us out of all these bottom rankings!
