Metro-North Preps For Sandy With Suspended Service Sunday Night

FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- MTA Metro-North will suspend all bus and train service starting 7 p.m. Sunday night in preparation for Hurricane Sandy.

The Hurricane Plan is designed to secure equipment, protect customers and employees before sustained winds of 39 mph reach the area, according to authorities.

The process must begin hours in advance of the storm's arrival, so the rail cars can be pulled from service and stored safely.
