FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Metro-North will add extra trains for Fairfield County commuters on Wednesday, Nov. 27, and Thursday, Nov. 28, to accommodate Thanksgiving travel.

Special getaway trains will begin service from New York City at noon Wednesday. Commuters should take note that due to reduced ridership, some evening trains may be canceled or combined.

Trains will run on a special holiday schedule on Thursday for residents to get to the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and back home again.
