GREENWICH, Conn. --  The northbound Merritt Parkway and northbound Hutchinson River Parkway on the Connecticut-New York border reopened early Tuesday evening after being closed for nearly eight hours after a tractor-trailer truck slammed into a bridge and caught fire.

No one was hurt in the fiery crash, including the operator and the single passenger, police said.

"The truck contained only butter and no hazardous material," police said via Twitter @GreenwichCTPD.

The Greenwich Fire Department was on the scene, putting out the blaze.

The tractor trailer hit the King Street bridge.

The accident was reported at about 11:20 a.m. Tuesday.

The Westchester County Police Department was diverting traffic at Exit 30.

The Greenwich Police Department opened Glen Ridge Road to allow access to the northbound Merritt Parkway.
