GREENWICH, Conn. The $254 million Powerball ticket claimed by three Greenwich asset managers was signed the day before the drawing by one of the trio, according to state lottery records obtained The Greenwich Time.
The records include scanned images of the winning ticket, along with the identification of the three winners and a copy of a $103,586,824 check. It was made out to the Putnam Avenue Family Trust and its trustees, Tim Davidson, Brandon Lacoff and Greg Skidmore of Greenwich. The ticket was signed by Davidson.
The newspaper obtained the records under the state Freedom of Information Act. Their disclosure may put to rest speculation about a fourth party sparked by Tom Gladstone, a longtime friend of Lacoff's, who said in an article in the Stamford Advocate that the trio were fronting for the real winner.
The ticket-holders work for Belpointe, a financial management firm at 125 Greenwich Ave. Their trust took in a $103.5 million lump sum after taxes after they came forward on Nov. 28 and said they would make a charitable donation within 10 days of winning. The jackpot is the largest ever in the state and the 12th biggest in the history of Powerball. The ticket was sold at the Shippan Avenue BP in Stamford.
This week the trust announced that five organizations that assist veterans and service members recently returned from deployment will split $1 million in charitable giving.
