Harold W. Mellor Jr., a longtime employee of the New York Daily News, died suddenly Aug. 31.
The Riverside resident and Navy veteran was proud to be a Plank Owner on the USS Boston CAG1. He became actively involved in their reunions around the country. Mellor enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Minnie; his son, Harold Francis, and daughter-in-law, Margaret; and two grandsons, Max and Dean of Marblehead, Mass.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Church in Greenwich. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.
