Devoted mother and wife Karen Jeff Hickey, 54, died Aug. 23. Hickey was born in Rochester, N.Y., to Adolph Jeff and the late Elizabeth O'Brien Jeff.
Hickey was employed as the director of education by the English-Speaking Union of the United States in New York City shortly after graduating Colgate University. She met her husband, Brian, in 1985 just before he set off for a two-year teaching assignment in Japan. Hickey followed him. They had been married for 23 years.
She is survived by her daughter, Emma, a 2010 graduate of Greenwich High School. Family and friends may visit the Castiglione Funeral Home Inc., 134 Hamilton Ave., from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 27.
