High Winds Cause Scattered Power Outages Across Greenwich

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Strong winds Sunday afternoon were causing scattered power outages across Fairfield County, Connecticut Light & Power reported on its website.

The outages as of 6 p.m. included: 

  • 35 in Danbury 
  • 60 in Greenwich 
  • 3 in New Canaan 
  • 6 in Norwalk
  • 177 in Ridgefield 
  • 3 in Redding 
  • 23 in Stamford 
  • 347 in Weston 
  • 13 in Westport 
  • 214 in Wilton 

United Illuminating reported three outages in the town Fairfield. 

All of Fairfield County was under a wind advisory on Sunday due to 15 to 25 mph with gusts of up to 45 mph. Overnight lows in the low teens were expected late Sunday into Monday monrning, with wind chills approaching zero degrees, the National Weather Service said.
