Greenwich resident Herbert Evers died of Alzheimer's disease on Jan. 30. He was 74 years old.
Evers was born in Hamburg, Germany. He started working in international banking in his native country and moved to New York in 1966. After a 40-year career, he retired as president of HSBC Securities.
He is survived by his wife, May Wan Evers; a sister, Heidi Naths, three children and five grandchildren. A memorial service was held on Feb. 6 at Christ Church in Greenwich.
