Severe Thunderstorm Watch Issued For Greenwich

Severe thunderstorms hammered Fairfield County Monday morning, bringing down tree limbs and power lines and thoroughly snarling the morning's commuter traffic. The area remained under a severe thunderstorm watch through 2 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.

Metro-North train service on the New Haven line experienced delays of 20-30 minutes as a result of wire damage in Southport.
