Gun-Toting Bicyclist Arrested in Greenwich

GREENWICH, Conn. – A man from Larchmont, N.Y., was arrested in Greenwich on Friday after a resident reported a suspicious person in a camouflage jumpsuit with a rifle on his back riding a bicycle on Summer Road.

Police searched the area and found the man driving on Mooreland Road in a black pickup truck. Police stopped the truck and found a green mountain bike and an unlocked gun case with a Ruger .22 Hornet bolt-action rifle and ammunition.

John Musacchio, 52, of 99 Myrtle Blvd., was arrested on charges of breach of peace, interfering with an officer and weapons in a motor vehicle. He was released on $1,500 bond and is due in court Nov. 18.

Also from the Greenwich Police Department:

• Luis Colin, 22, was arrested in Greenwich after fleeing the scene of a hit-and-run car accident on South Water Street on Sunday, police said. Colin’s car was found hours after the accident one-tenth of a mile from the scene. He was charged with evading responsibility, unsafe movement and no insurance. Colin was released on $1,000 bond and is due in court Dec. 1.

• Three teens were charged in Greenwich on Friday after police found alcohol in a car one of the teens was driving. Two 17-year-olds and Constantine Hadjipateras, 18, of 50 Cherry Valley Road, Greenwich, were stopped for driving without any exterior lights. During the stop, police found three unopened bottles of Smirnoff, a bottle of Southern Comfort and a bottle of Minsk Vodka. All alcohol was seized, and each teen was issued infractions for possession of alcohol by a minor. Hadjipateras was also issued a warrant for failure to have lights illuminated. All three are due in court Nov. 25.
