Greenwich's Margaret Kress, Loved Acting

Margaret P. Kress, a Greenwich resident, died of lung cancer at her home Feb. 14. She was 75. Kress was born in Yonkers, N.Y., and grew up with six siblings. She graduated from Gorton High School and went on to study at New York University. Kress worked as a merchandising manager for Family Circle Magazine before moving to Greenwich to raise her family in 1959.

She also worked as a Realtor for Preferred Properties. In her later years, Kress pursued her passion for acting and studied with Wynn Handman. She appeared in commercials and local theater.

She is survived by her children Stacie Booker, Richard Kress, Megan Torelli and Sharon Kress; sisters Kathryn Battaglia and Maryann Miano; and five grandchildren. A funeral service was held Feb. 19 at St. Mary's Church in Greenwich.
