Greenwich Woman Bitten Protecting Her Dog

GREENWICH, Conn.--A Greenwich woman received a deep bite wound Tuesday when she tried to protect her dog from a German shepherd. She was taken to Greenwich Hospital after the incident, which occurred in Glenville.

A woman who walks the German shepherd lost control of the dog, which went after the smaller dog the other woman was walking, according to Lt. Kraig Gray, spokesman for the Greenwich Police. Police said the German shepherd bit her deeply on her calf when she tried to protect her dog.

When the dog walker tried to control the shepherd, she was bitten on the thigh, but she refused medical treatment.

No charges were filed, but the shepherd has been quarantined at the town’s animal control center.
