Greenwich Supermarkets Open As Roads Close

GREENWICH, Conn.—Is your power out? At least you can buy food.

Whole Foods on East Putnam Avenue and A&P Fresh on West Putnam Avenue are open. The West Putnam Avenue Stop and Shop is open, but has no ice and no propane. The Glen Ridge Stop and Shop is also open despite no power in the store.

Even if you’re looking for specialty food items, you can shop at Balducci’s, which was open during the storm and is welcoming customers Monday. Calls to Porricelli’s in Old Greenwich were not answered.

The list of partially and fully closed roads in Greenwich is a long one, and includes Clapboard Ridge Road, Havemeyer Lane, Pecksland Road, Riversville Road, Round Hill Road, North Street, Sound Shore Drive, Steamboat Road, Valley Road, and Zaccheus Mead Lane.
