Greenwich Sewer Work Closes Roads Near Cos Cob Train Station

GREENWICH, Conn. -- Work began Monday underneath the railroad bridge between Strickland Road and Sound Shore Drive near the Cos Cob train station, the town of Greenwich announced on its website.

The work is being done to replace a section of 24-inch diameter sanitary sewer force main, the town's Department of Public Works said.

This work includes setting up temporary bypass piping above ground to maintain uninterrupted sanitary sewer flow in this area. This is the last phase of the project.

As a result, that short stretch of road will remain closed, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, until the work is complete. The estimated duration for this closure is four to six weeks.

All commuter parking lots will remain open at the train station, and temporary pedestrian crosswalks will be created to provide passage for walkers.

For a map of the project and the closures, check the town's website .
