Greenwich PD: Serial Dental Shoplifter Arrested

GREENWICH, Conn. – A Stamford man accused of shoplifting dental products from pharmacies on the east side of Greenwich turned himself in on a warrant Monday.

Police gave the following account:

On Nov. 1, Joseph Warner, 20, of 123 Hoyt St., was seen “casing” the aisle where dental products are kept at CVS Pharmacy on East Putnam Avenue. He then exited the store and returned with two hand-held shopping baskets and filled them with 16 dental care products. He then immediately left the store.

Later that day, he went to Walgreens on East Putnam Avenue and filled two baskets with 26 boxes of toothpaste and a power toothbrush. Once again he fled the area.

The total value of the products from both stores is $2,500. He was arrested two days later in Westport for similar acts and was charged with attempted larceny, possession of narcotics, possession of drug paraphernalia and motor vehicle charges.

He turned himself in to the Greenwich police Monday on an active arrest warrant for larceny. He was released on a promise to appear in court Jan. 10.
