Greenwich Offers Two Locations To Enjoy Fireworks Displays

GREENWICH, Conn. -- The town will present fireworks displays at Binney Park and Greenwich Point Park for the 10th consecutive year, the Department of Parks and Recreation has announced.

Both displays are scheduled for Friday, July 3, with a rain date of Sunday, July 5.

The Binney Park Show will start at approximately 9:10 p.m. and the Greenwich Point Show will begin at approximately 9:35 p.m.

It is strongly recommended that anyone planning to attend either display and especially the Greenwich Point display arrive early, according to the department.

Spectators wishing to attend the Greenwich Point display must remember the rules for Greenwich Point access will be the same as usual on the day of the fireworks. The Point will be closed when the maximum number of cars for the available parking spaces has been reached. Greenwich Point will be closed to vehicular traffic at 8:30 p.m., even if the parking capacity has not been reached.

Tailgating will not be permitted in Greenwich Point’s parking lots during and after the display, according to the department. Cooking is allowed only in regularly designated picnic areas and at town-owned grills.

Spectators at Greenwich Point will be entertained by a disc jockey stationed near the south concession area starting at 7 p.m.

The Binney Park display will feature the Sound Beach Community Band. They will begin performing at 7:30 p.m.

In addition, grills, cooking and open fires will be prohibited in Binney Park, according to the department. 

No open flame candles, sparklers, Chinese fire lanterns, or any other kind of fireworks will be permitted at either location, according to the department. 

 Pets should never be brought to any fireworks display.
