GREENWICH, Conn. -- Greenwich residents voiced their opposition to the proposed construction of a new house of worship for the Greenwich Reform Synagogue at a Planning and Zoning Commission meeting Tuesday, March 4, according to greenwichtime.com.

Leaders of the project appeared before the commission in an effort to get final authorization to begin construction on their 2-acre parcel in Cos Cob, but concerns over parking and the overall appearance of the synagogue in comparison to its rural setting have drawn the ire of local residents, greenwichtime reported.

The Greenwich Reform Synagogue received unanimous approval of their plans from the Inland Wetlands & Watercourses Agency on Feb. 3 after making changes to its initial plan.

Those changes included a partial green roof and additional vegetation to help absorb rain water.
