GREENWICH, Conn. A Greenwich man was arrested Thursday, four years after he was accused of stealing from a neighbors home and staging it to look like a burglary.
James C. Martin, 48, of 192 Putnam Park was arrested on a warrant charging him with larceny and criminal mischief. The charges stem for an incident on May 5, 2007, in which he stole jewelry from a home next to mother's, authorities said. Martin had access to the house, but made the theft appear to be a burglary, police said.
An investigation by Greenwich police detectives pointed to Martin as the perpetrator. When he learned of the warrant, Martin fled to South Carolina, where he remained until recently. Police arrested him Thursday and he is being held on a $2,500 bond, due in court on June 24.
