Greenwich Man Charged With Running Drug Factory

GREENWICH, Conn. — A 20-year-old Greenwich man was charged with running a drug factory out of his father's Greenwich home Friday. Acting on an anonymous tip, officers armed with a search-and-seizure warrant arrested George Nichols, of 3 Upland Road. They said they found marijuana, psilocybin mushrooms, Ecstasy, Aripiprazole pills, a scale, zip-lock baggies, many articles of drug paraphernalia and a large amount of money.

Nichols was charged with possession of a hallucinogenic with intent to sell, possession of a hallucinogenic, possession of marijuana, possession of a restricted substance, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia and operating a drug factory. He was released on $5,000 bond and is due in court Nov. 17.

Narcotics officers also discovered that a domestic violence incident had occurred just before their arrival. They said Nichols' girlfriend, a juvenile, had smashed a wall during an argument with him. She also smashed a sliding glass door with a piece of outdoor furniture. She was charged with criminal mischief and disorderly conduct and was released to the care of her grandparents. She was due in court Friday.
