Greenwich Hospital Wins 5th Summit Award

For the fifth year in a row Greenwich Hospital is one of four hospitals nationwide to receive a Summit Award by the Press Ganey Association.

“We are among a very select group of hospitals nationwide to achieve this significant honor,” said Frank Corvino, hospital president and CEO in a prepared statement. “It reflects the efforts of everyone here -- administrators, doctors, nurses, and all our support staff and volunteers -- who all work as a team to make service excellence a reality.”

The Summit Award recognizes top performing hospitals in the area of patient satisfaction. Award recipients must maintain a ranking in the 95th percentile or above for at least three years in a row.

Greenwich Hospital, a 174-bed regional teaching facility,  easily met the award criteria with patient satisfaction scores consistently ranking in the top 5 percent nationwide for the past 10 years, according to George Pawlush, vice president of public relations and community affairs for the hospital.

The other award recipients Calvary Hospital, a 225-bed acute care New York City hospital that provides palliative care for advanced cancer patients; Oklahoma Heart Hospital, a 78-bed physician-owned facility; and Mount Carmel New Albany Surgical Hospital in Ohio, a 42-bed hospital that serves 8,500 surgical cases annually.
